Over the years, the majority of projects that QCM design have been involved in are for the certification of Cabin Interior Changes, ranging from the simplest Carpet Change up to Full Cabin Refurbishments. In particular, complying to the Certification Specifications has always been achieved, especially in regards to the challenging aspect of surrogate processes andupholding the safety of the product to the highest levels.
Avionics
QCM design has successfully mastered the challenges of incorporating several Avionics / Electrical Systems into Aircraft and Helicopters. At a glance, the systems include Flight Management Systems with RNAV capabilities; ADS-B Out (with several configurations); Cabin Management Systems; CDUs with new Human Interface challenges due to Touch Screens; WiFi / WLAN Router full certifications, including all phases of Flight and Frequencies; and KU Band Installations; etc.
IFE/Connectivity
Cabin Management System integration in aging aircraft, or for aircraft with obsolete systems, have been challenges which were undertaken by QCM design several times. Integration of new to old is challenging, but we have demonstrated that we develop this integration with success.
Structures
The integration of any Antennae, small or large, to the aircraft, including the challenging Damage Tolerance and Fatigue Calculations, has enhanced our capabilities over the past years. QCM design can develop new Interior Cabinets, and by complying to all applicable regulations, passenger safety is always assured.
Interior Refurbishment
Aircraft interiors are subject to wear and tear which can affect the overall impression of the cabin. Refurbishing your interior will bring a feel of renewal to the atmosphere in the aircraft, and give those entering the aircraft a neat, polished, first impression. From leather refurbishment, veneer revarnishing, carpet replacement we can certify your new cabin interior.
Flammability
Working with several Flammability Laboratories over the past decade(s), and seeking more transparency on given test results, QCM design developed the Flamelab 4.0, which is an independent, Human Factor Free Flammability Chamber.
The Flamelab 4.0 gives traceability for all tests, and answers the “WHY” and “HOW” of the test results and their performance, aswell as additionally allowing for online test witnessing.
Special Mission
Customers with special one-off requests have been key to our success. From building laboratories for Special Avionics Testing Capabilities or developing a Hook Release System for helicopters for Alpine Rescue, there is no request we cannot succeed with.
Certification & Engineering Support
QCM design has assisted individual Partner DOAs with Certification Support on individual Means of Compliances. We can be subcontracted for individual Calculations or System Safety Analyses.

Why do you need a design company?
find out.
All deviations from an aircraft type design are “changes” that have to be approved by the authorities. Because these deviations can range from a simple correction to a massive structural intrusion, the EASA considers two kinds of changes: minor and major changes. Major Changes are design changes as defined by EU regulation 748/2012 § 21A.91 and GM 21A.91. Minor Changes are all other changes not classified as a Major Design change.
As a Part 21J Design Organization, we are entitled to classify and approve minor changes, as well as help our customers plan for major changes. This gives us more flexibility to find solutions for your requests.

External LEDs for your Bombardier aircraft!
QCM design has done it again! We have secured EASA approval for the replacement of the current external Landing, Taxi, and Navigation halogen lamps on a Challenger 604 with new LED lights. The LED lights were implemented in place of the existing halogen lights in order to reduce maintenance costs, due to the longer life cycle. They offer improved illumination, longer lifespan and greater reliability with an increased mean time between failures. The further benefits to the operator are improved reliability, power consumption reduction and weight savings.
We received the STC Approval 27 June 2017, and we look forward to receiving your notices of interest upon successful completion of this endeavor!
