QCM Design is proud to announce the successful completion of a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) modification on a Bombardier Global Express XRS, enhancing its cabin layout to meet the specific needs of the operator.
STC 10086181 Certification | LOPA Change – Credenza Installation
This project focused on improving the right-hand mid-cabin area, ensuring a more modern, functional, and aesthetically refined space to meet the operator’s requirements.
Enhancing Cabin Configuration
The modification was initiated at the operator’s request to optimize the aircraft’s interior layout for both practicality and comfort. The key change involved the removal of a single seat, a low cabinet, and an existing workstation, which were replaced with a custom-designed low credenza bench featuring integrated stowage drawers, as well as bolsters and a mattress/cushion which can be added for extra comfort during the flight.
Key Features of the Modification:
- Optimized Space Utilization: The newly installed credenza bench maintains the same footprint as the removed components, ensuring no reduction in available cabin space.
- Retention of Essential Features: The modification preserves the original low cabinet accent lighting and power outlets below the emergency exit. The low-level exit sign, previously part of the removed cabinet, was relocated to the new credenza bench for continued compliance with safety regulations.
- Streamlined Connectivity: The removal of the workstation included decommissioning the associated power outlets, LAN connectors, and handset, while the reading light control was seamlessly relocated to the new credenza bench.
- Minimal Structural Impact: No modifications were made to the Passenger Service Unit (PSU), sideledge, or dado panels, ensuring a straightforward integration of the new layout.
- Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal: By replacing outdated furnishings with a sleek, modern credenza, the modification provides a refreshed, polished look that enhances the cabin ambiance and leaves a strong first impression on passengers.
Delivering on Operator Expectations
This STC modification was carried out with a focus on quality, safety, and design excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering a superior cabin experience. The improved layout not only meets the operator’s functional requirements but also elevates the overall passenger experience by introducing a refined and contemporary interior touch.
The installation of this credenza based on QCM’s designs and manuals was completed by one of our trusted EASA Part-145 partners, Aero-Dienst, whose technicians ensured the smooth integration and minimal downtime of the aircraft.
With this successful completion, our team continues to demonstrate expertise in aircraft modifications, providing tailored solutions that align with our clients’ unique needs and expectations.
