Background

Michael was born & raised in Austria. After graduating the Bundesfachschule für Flugtechnik (Aviation Engineering College) and completing his basic military service in the Austrian Armed Forces, he started his professional career in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) sector, working for Schiebel Elektronische Geräte GmbH.

For the next 24 years, Michael worked across a variety of different roles and different departments at Schiebel, from development, production, and flight operation to certification and airworthiness. He played a key role in establishing the type certification basis for the Camcopter S-100 UAS with EASA, obtaining a Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) with ACG and successful implementation of various customer projects, including a design verification project with EASA.

Michael has a passion for building and test-flying his self-designed drones and enjoys cycling, inline skating, kayaking and spending time in nature.

Experience & Specialised Skills

More than 24 years of experience in the UAS sector, including operation and design verification of UAS operated in the EASA ‘specific’ category, in accordance with regulation (EU) 2019/947, on the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft, and regulation (EU) 2019/945, on unmanned aircraft systems and on third-country operators of unmanned aircraft systems, and (EASA) Special Condition for Light Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SC Light-UAS).

• Remote Pilot License Camcopter S-100
• Drone License A1/A3 Open Sub Category
