Maintenance & Airworthiness by EASA Part-CAO
This three-day course will introduce participants to the requirements
– applicable for a Part-CAO organisation regarding organisation, personnel, facilities, tools, equipment and data;
– to be followed during the daily work with respect to maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, conducting airworthiness review and issuing permit to fly;
– the competent authority must follow during initial certification and continuing surveillance of Part-CAO organisation
– Part-145 organisation opting to convert the Part-145 approval to a Part-CAO approval
– Part-CAMO organisation opting to convert the Part-CAMO approval to a Part-CAO approval
– Private and commercial operators of other than complex motor-powered aircraft, not operating as an air carrier licensed i.a.w. Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008
– All personnel in a Part-CAO organisation, incl. Accountable Manager, Nominated Persons, Certifying Staff, Airworthiness Review Staff
– Authority personnel involved in the initial certification and continuing surveillance of Part-CAO organisations

This course focuses on the following:
– the requirements to be met by a Part-CAO organisation in order to be issued an approval for the maintenance and continuing airworthiness management;
– the measures to be taken by the Part-CAO organisation to ensure that the airworthiness of aircraft is maintained, including its maintenance, in order to ensure that the aircraft remains airworthy;
– the administrative requirements to be met by the Competent Authority with respect to .
In addition, the interrelations to other relevant parts of Part-M, Part-ML, Part-66 and Part-21 are covered.
– Overview of EASA organisation and EASA regulations
– Part-CAO and relevant AMC & GM
– relevant parts of Part-M and the related AMC & GM with respect to maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, airworthiness review
– relevant parts of Part-ML and the related AMC & GM with respect to maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, airworthiness review and permit to fly
– relevant parts of Part 21 and the related AMC & GM
– Organisational and personnel requirements for Part-CAO organisation performing maintenance, continuing airworthiness management and the additional privileges, i.e. conducting airworthiness review and issuing permit to fly
– Competences and responsibilities of management personnel, certifying staff, airworthiness review staff and all personnel
– the processes regarding continuing airworthiness management activities to be conducted by a Part-CAO organisation, incl. conducting airworthiness review and issuing permit to fly
– the processes regarding maintenance to be conducted by a Part-CAO organisation, incl. release to service
– the activities to be performed by the Competent Authority during the initial certification process and continuing oversight of a Part-CAO organisation
