Threat and Error Management (TEM), Human Factors (HF) and Crew Resource Management(CRM) in trainings organzations ATO & DTO

Objectives of the course:

The course aims to fulfil the regulatory requirements for knowledge, skills and application of

  • Threat and Error Management (TEM)
  • Human Factors (HF) and
  • Crew Resource Management(CRM)

as required for flight instructors and other responsible personnel in  Declared Training Organizations (DTO)

Key Topics of the course:

Modern methods for accident prevention (dynamical safety) are based on safety science. EASA and BAZL regulations (see below) require that personnel responsible in training organizations (ATO & DTO) know and apply these methods. Flight instructors in DTOs must be able to teach these methods. This course covers the methods in form of Threat and Error Management (TEM), Human Factors (HF) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) so that it can be applied in everyday practice.

The course includes:

  • Basic principles of dynamic safety
  • Communication and CRM
  • Leadership in DTOs
  • Safe / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Training of emergency procedures
  • Knowledge and skills in TEM, CRM and Human factors (HF)
  • Safety management in DTOs
